Cambridge & London Wedding Photography
It was Novemeber 2013 when Carolyn and Dan approached me to be the photographer at their forthcoming wedding. Every girl dreams about their big day and for Carolyn it proved to be that and more. With her very own Prince Charming at her side Dan helped turn Carolyn’s dreams into a reality. It was clear from our very first consultation meeting that this was a joint venture by two people that loved each other dearly. Recently I was asked an odd question, If you were a piece of food what would you be? Well as cheesy as this may be, if Carolyn and Dan were being asked the same question they could only be described as a stick of Brighton rock with the word LOVE running right through middle.
Carolyn and Dan had chosen the wonderful Cannizaro House in Wimbledon as the location for their wedding. This magnificent setting was perfect for their special day. The weather was also on our side which afforded everyone the chance to take advantage of the beautiful grounds and surrounding park area. A truly touching moment was from a little girl playing in the park. Pointing to where the wedding party had congregated, she asked her mummy if she could go and see the Princess in her beautiful white dress. Things don’t come much sweeter than that – so cute! The team at Cannizaro House had done an excellent job dressing the tables for the wedding breakfast and the stunning table decorations created by Jodie Vigar from Boutique Blooms brought the outside in.
Carolyn wore a Jesus Peiro dress from Miss Bush Bridal, Surrey. This elegant mikado silk dress with clean lines and dramatic train was finished off with a diamante crystal waist band. In her hair Carolyn wore a designer fascinator called Amelie by Gina Foster Millinery, London W8. Hair and Make up by Natalie and Nadia, respectively, from Seven Hairdressing in Surrey. It’s not often the groom’s attire gets a mention but Dan’s is worthy of one. His blue suit and shoes from Paul Smith at Robert Fuller in Banstead was accessorised with a complimenting tie and pocket square worn with a white shirt.
As a photographer you get to build a fantastic relationship with your couples, their families and friends. After all the photographer is the only vendor that is there from the morning through to the late evening. But a first for me was being asked to take photographs at Carolyn’s Hen Party. As I had already met so many of Carolyn’s girlfriends then I already had a head start from that of other weddings that I have done. I wrote about this in a previous post called B.Y.O.C ! why not pop over there to see for yourself what happened.
The day was so emotionally charged, in a good way you understand. It was clear that those that had come along to be part this special day wanted the very best for this wonderful couple. The evening was topped off with a rendition of Robbie William’s Angels sung by Carolyn’s God son Ollie Hale. When Ollie was a little boy he vowed to sing it for Carolyn on her wedding day, a promise that he was determined to keep !
I truly wish Carolyn and Dan all the happiness in the world. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this, your special day.
