Kimberly and Rob – Pre Wedding Shoot

Cambridge Wedding and Lifestyle Portrait Photographer

Sometimes fate deals you a hand that you just have to play out. Other times it brings people into your life that would have otherwise passed you by. With Kimberly and Rob a chain of events and situations bought us together and binds us as we outline my role for their wedding day. So was it fate or destiny?

I am reminded of the movie Sliding Doors with Gwyneth Paltrow. The film uses parallel time-lines to explore the different paths that life can take. Now I know we all can have those ‘what if’ moments and its not really possible to live in a parallel world where we can choose the path we want to take, or change the direction of the one we are on, if knowing the outcome of one scenario over another. So you deal with what you have been given and run with it.

I have been so lucky / fortunate, call it what you will, with all the couples that I have worked with. This combined with the love and passion I have for my work reinforces the decision I made several months ago to leave my full-time job, and to take photography from a hobby and turn it in to a career.  I love the fact that I am able to preserve memories and help create new ones.

Our pre wedding shoot took us to the streets of London visiting some of the iconic landmarks. Buckingham Palace,  The Southbank, The London Eye plus much more en route and the time just flew. The idea of the pre wedding shoot serves, amongst other things to, 1) prepare the couple for the big day 2) help to get to know your photographer and 3) provide a rest bite from the planning mayhem and to have some ‘me’ time. I think it’s safe to say that both Kimberly and Rob were nervous of what lay ahead but by the end of the session we had achieved so much more not only in photographic terms but in confidence, relationships and expectations. If I achieve what I did that sunny June afternoon every time I pick up my camera I will be one very happy man. Its not always about the images it’s the message that lies beneath.

To you both, As your wedding photographer I am fortunate enough to expand my circle of acquaintances. As your wedding photographer I am privileged enough to become a big part of your special day. As your wedding photographer I am simply blessed to be doing a job I LOVE.

Was it fate or destiny – you choose!
