Cambridge Wedding and Lifestyle Portrait Photographer
Earlier this year I began discussions and started to plan a styled bridal photo shoot in the grounds of The Odney Club in Cookham. Being the recommended wedding photographer for Odney meant I could showcase my work and have my images used in their new wedding season brochure. I seized the opportunity. Wedding photography is about having images that tell a story as the day unfolds and capturing a lifetime of memories.
Exclusively for John Lewis Partners the chance to hold your wedding here is only afforded to a lucky few. With magnificent surroundings and wonderful landscape it is a photographers dream location offering some amazing photo opportunities.
I worked in collaboration with the Kat and Marie, the event management team at Odney who arranged the room setting, bridal bouquet, floral table decorations and wedding cake while I set to work securing the models, outfits, hair and make-up artist, photographer’s and lighting assistant. We split the day into two separate shoots, part one was an elegant 40s style wedding which was laid out in the way that all weddings held at Odney would be and dressed with crisp starched linen table cloths, folded napkins and beautifully placed table settings.
The second part of the day was a vintage afternoon tea party with a distinctive 50s style complete with fresh cream scones, cucumber sandwiches and a pot of tea. Knowing that Kat and Marie would be taking care of their side of the arrangements I knew my team could concentrate on setting the scene for the afternoon shoot, and thankfully everything came together including the weather!
My heartfelt thanks and a big shout out goes to Cecelia Di Vita owner of Heart Aflutter bridal – London. Thank you so much for the loan of the 50s style tea dress! and Natalie Morton – Hair and Make-up Artist who styled Jess exactly as I had envisaged. The art and skill you demonstrated in your craft exceeded my wildest dreams.

I must finish with a massive thanks to my models. I was so grateful to have Jess and Jon modelling for me again. I had worked with them both previously when they answered a social media call for a couple to take part in a London photoshoot last year. A chance meeting but one that I will be for ever grateful for. Jess a teacher and Jon who is in finance are, in their words, London-living expats. “We’re American but live in London” to coin a phrase from Jess’s regular blog she writes about their adventures in and around this great city of ours. Follow them here as they continue on their fun filled epic journeys on life’s highway http://www.youngrubbish.com
Jess and Jon also crafted a ‘behind the scenes’ video on the day of the shoot. They have agreed for me to share here for you all to have a look at. A great piece of workmanship.
