BE MY VALENTINE I THE MISSING SOCK I CAMBRIDGE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

The Missing Sock I Happy 1st Anniversary

This time last year I was at The Missing Sock. I find it hard to believe that Arwen and Jason are soon to be celebrating their first wedding anniversary. Where did that year go? But what an awesome way to celebrate than to be reminded of this amazing day. I’d met Arwen and Jason when they were guests at a wedding a couple of years ago. Our initial consultation meeting was held at the Missing Sock, the venue the couple had booked for their February wedding. From that meeting I knew instantly it was going to be quirky, unique and lots of fun. It was clear that the couples personality and strong family ethics would be weaved seamlessly into their day.

Quirky unique wedding venue

Fairy tales and Princesses

The bride wore a stunning Champagne coloured long Satin dress with a V neckline and appliqué detailing. As a child Arwen would always sketch beautiful wedding gowns and flowing long dresses fit for a princess whist dreaming of her own fairytale wedding. Painstakingly and lovingly lifted from those pages a take on one of those designs was handmade by the brides mother. Arwen looked every part the beautiful princess on her wedding day in her stunning couture dress.

Can you keep a secret?

Bridal prep became a military style operation as we had a secret to keep! A secret I’d been let in on but that had been kept from Jason for months. Jason’s sister had flown in especially from India to be at her brothers wedding only arriving that morning. It was certainly a mad dash to get to the venue in time for the big reveal. As far as surprises go this was pretty epic and beautifully orchestrated.

Having bride and groom prep at the same venue can lead to complications of their own. My second shooter Jonathan had the daunting task of keeping the groom occupied and away from the rear garden and the bridal suite. Jason’s sister was in hiding there during the undercover operation that was taking place.

Arwen has such a huge heart. No more evident as a big part of her meticulous planning was to etch out a plan to ensure that Jason’s sister was able to attend their wedding. The couple also shared the stage with their then eighteen month old son who behaved so well to allow his parents to celebrate this, their special day. But Grandma was never far away!

Time Together

It’s that time away from the crowd when you have the chance to ‘look in’ on your guests, guests that have travelled far and wide to be with you to share this special day. Arwen and Jason were perfect in front off the camera. They looked so relaxed and happy all day and simply enjoyed taking it all in not wishing for this day to end.
