Elegant and Sophisticated I Oxnead Hall

Oxnead Hall played host to Nate and Matthew’s extremely elegant and sophisticated wedding last June. Part of the Unique Norfolk Venue’ portfolio this venue has so much to offer couples on their wedding day. Set in 15 acres of rolling Norfolk countryside with stunning manicured gardens housing a magnificent Tudor hall and medieval church. Also on site the amazing Orangery and beautiful renovated barn. Oxnead Hall has a great mix accommodation on site with the 16 beautifully decorated rooms. Allowing your wedding guests to relax and unwind pre or post wedding day celebrations.

Nate and Matthew stayed at Oxnead Hall with many of the invited guests the evening before the wedding as It was Nate’s birthday. The amazing fountain courtyard the setting for a relaxed soirée. So with camera in hand I attended the pre wedding / birthday celebrations. If this were anything to go by I knew I was in for an amazing time the following day.

It’s all in the Detail

After a good nights sleep I returned the following morning to Oxnead where a lavish breakfast had been served to the guests ahead of a morning full of preparation. Tables were being laid and each place setting mirroring the last with the finest detail. Keith, the head chef, and his team were busy with food preparation for what I know was going to be a mouth watering menu.  The chairs had been laid out and an aisle created in The Fountain Room which adjoins the Great Barn for the wedding ceremony.

The elegant and sophisticated table settings and amazing floral decorations weren’t the only jaw dropping spectacle. Illuminated five foot high letters spelling out the couples initials. The stunning draped festoon lights suspended high above the tables and cascading wall lights added to the ambience of this magnificent room. Lights and individual letters supplied by Epic Events Hire. Directional signage and order of the day from ForKeeps were in place to inform the guests of the days proceedings.

White Tie Opulence

The boys had decided to get ready together on the morning of their wedding. The boys had provided hair and make up for the ladies in the wedding party, even managing a hair cut and quick pampering session for themselves. Never far from them and always on hand was their two ‘Best Women’ Chrissy and Hermione. Meeting both the ladies the previous evening I knew the boys were going to be well prepared for their big day. Nate and Matthew would also be joined by Matthew’s two brothers David and Jonathan.

The morning was so relaxed and all too soon the guests would start to arrive and be WOWED all over again as they stepped into the magnificent grounds of Oxnead Hall. As the nerves began to grow so did the beautiful elegant sounds of the amazing string quartet. Soon Nate and Matthew would be walking down the aisle, eyes of all their guests firmly fixed on them. With the formalities over is what time to head the Memory Garden for drinks and canapés.

Elegant and Sophisticated

After the drinks reception and the formal group photos guests made their way to, and were greeted by, the wedding party at the Great Barn. Once seated the guests were totally unaware of the epic feast that had been planned and prepared for them, each course occupied by amazing wine and good company. The speeches were both heartfelt, tearful and funny. Providing a rollercoaster of emotions. After dinner I joined the boys for some pictures of them both with their wedding car of choice, an elegant and classic Aston Martin and for a couple portrait session in the magnificent grounds.

The day, as is always the case was coming to an end but not before several moves were being thrown on the dance floor to the sounds of The Joe Ringer Band. The boys certainly knew how to party, my suspicions and experience from the night before didn’t disappoint. It was evident this was going to be an amazing celebration for Nate and Matthew and one so clearly deserved.
