Summer Wedding I Longstowe Hall
Will and Lloyd’s wonderfully relaxed summer wedding happened at the amazing Longstowe Hall in Cambridgeshire, a glorious summer day with clear skies and an abundance of sunshine. Longstowe is a family home and exclusive wedding venue for Mercedes and her husband who manage the estate with their amazingly hardworking and professional teams.
Same Sex Wedding
As is with many same sex weddings the boys had got ready together firstly at home before moving onto Longstowe. I’d like to say the boys groom prep time was stress free and ran like clockwork. Unfortunately Summer weddings and major roadworks unavoidably lead to long delays – fact. But the boys took it all in their stride. Arriving at Longstowe and a quick check on proceedings we set about to capturing some detail and scene setting shots. Firstly, the flowers had been delivered by Clare from Clare Jones Floral Designs and were lovingly being arranged.
Magnificent Splendour
Secondly, the set up of the tables were being completed by the team at Longstowe. Moving to the cottage the boys had arranged for Laura form De Simone Hair to be on hand for them and the female members of the wedding party. However, there is so much happening on the morning of a wedding and despite the later start time just passes you by. The wedding ceremony was set for 4pm in the magnificent Rose Ballroom. An aisle had been created that led the boys to the registrar for the official part of the day. The guests were then treated to a relaxed drinks reception on the amazing manicured lawns at Longstowe. Soon it was time for the formal and couple portraits and the realisation that the day was fading too fast.
Murder on the Dance floor
The boys equal priorities for the day was to have time to celebrate their union with their family and friends. With the evening entertainment as important to them as the legal ceremony itself. They certainly did not fail on this part which lived up to all expectations. Summer weddings have the added benefit of the lighter evenings but as with any wedding the day soon passes. By the time the speeches had finished the natural light had faded and so did the lights in the marquee ready for the boys to hit the dance floor. But not before cutting the amazing cake, made by Lloyd’s mother. standing proudly at the entrance of the marquee.
I know the boys had an early flight but that didn’t deter them from having the best time ever. One they may have regretted a little the following day. But wedding days should be like this and one that you simply want to go on and on! The honeymoon in beautiful Milos Greece the boys recharged the batteries ready for the next stage of their busy lives.
Thank you for having me as part of your day. I enjoyed getting to know you and honoured to be able to showcase your wedding day.
